Sumaya Gani

umaya Gani, a qualified optometrist, is practicing in the field of optometry since 2010. She has an extensive working experience at several private Optometric practices as well as welfare clinics like Bonang eye clinic.

She attended ESCRS (European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons) in Paris, where she gained an extensive knowledge of refractive (laser eye correction) workup for surgery. This valuable experience helps in the decision making for patients considering various vision correction options. This also helped in identifying patients at risk or with Keratoconus.

She has a passion for Paediatric Ophthalmology and when working with Dr Gani, she is able to do a cycloplegic refractions to get accurate prescriptions in children. Other Optometrists usually refer for this specialised test to be done at Vision Clinic.

‘Myopia control’ – The incidence of myopia in young people is increasing at an exponentially alarming rate worldwide. Preventing the progression of myopia is a major focus in her practice.

Sumaya has gained much Ophthalmic assistant experience over the years. Dr Gani and Sumaya work closely with patients to identify pathologies and discuss possible treatment options. ‘A second opinion’ on hand.
